The Structure of a Peanut

A peanut is a type of nut that grows underground, and it has a few different parts. The shell of a peanut is called the pod or the hull. Inside the pod, is the cotyledon, the testa and the germ. The cotyledon is the crunchy part that we eat it is full of nutrients. The germ is what allows new peanut plants to grow and the testa protects the germ from harm.
